Manufacturers are scrambling to understand “where to draw the line” when it comes to what kinds of new functionality to enable with IoT. In this article from 1to1 Media, Arrayent CEO Cyril Brignone explains the approaches that brands must take to navigate the decisions around IoT use cases. Products will resonate with consumers if they demonstrate everyday value, whereas customers may pull away if the new products add more complexity or annoying steps to their life. Peace of mind (is my house safe? Is my garage door closed?) and the automation of routine tasks (turn off lights and furnace/AC when I leave the […]
Arrayent is building the most secure, scalable, reliable, and flexible IoT Platform for trusted consumer product brands, and we are often asked to weigh in on topics like this IoT Security article from Enterprise Tech. In the article, Arrayent founder, Shane Dyer, talks about securing the hardware largely by keeping the device clean and simple. Putting too much complexity in the devices makes them more vulnerable since closing all the security attack points gets much more difficult with every line of device code. With IoT you can push most of the product design complexity to the cloud, where we have a much […]
We were honored to see mention of Arrayent’s CEO change alongside other big name 2015 CEO changes (like Cisco and Evernote) in this article from Vator News. Arrayent has pioneered and led the Connected Consumer Product IoT Platform market since 2007 with the largest customer base of Trusted Brands (like Whirlpool, Chamberlain/Liftmaster, OSRAM/Sylvania, and many more). As we experience the IoT market taking off, this new phase of sales growth and platform innovation will be led by Cyril Brignone (CEO), who has demonstrated strength in both of these areas in his 4 plus years at Arrayent. Hiring is accelerating again as we climb up […]
Sept 4, 2015 — Arrayent Customer Whirlpool showcases their latest connected product innovations in Berlin at IFA, a global trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances. Whirlpool issued this press release ahead of the show. Live from the floor we spotted Whirlpool showing a connected refrigerator, washer/dryer and a dishwasher! This is Whirlpool’s first year showing at IFA, so this is kind of a big deal, as they are the world’s leading manufacturer of major home appliances. Congratulations to Whirlpool for keeping their leadership edge alive.
In this Aug 30 article and interview from Fierce Wireless, Arrayent Founder Shane Dyer shares how Arrayent does not need to distinguish between industrial IoT and consumer, since “we work with products that are very high volume”. The article goes on to mention some of Arrayent’s largest customer success stories, such as Osram Sylvania, Whirlpool, and Maytag.
Manufacturers, it may be tempting to do-it-yourself when it comes to building your own IoT infrastructure, but it may be wisest to look to IoT Platform providers like Arrayent since we will have the experience, security, scalability, data analytics, and more already figured out. Design News magazine has written up a nice piece with our founder Shane Dyer this week. Since no company should “try to do everything”, the suggestion is that manufacturers should focus there energy around their core competencies rather than reinventing an IoT Cloud and all the other components of an IoT platform. This article echos a lot […]

We were pleased to see our name highlighted in a recent (May 14, 2015) IoT Research Report from Forrester Research titled “Enterprise Software Giants Embrace The Internet Of Things, (But They Won’t Be Ready To Meet CIOs’ Needs In 2015, So CIOs Still Need Specialist IoT Software Platforms)” This report covers the current offerings and recent IoT announcements of the software giants like Oracle, SAP, IBM, and Microsoft and details how CIOs should think about and work with them over the next five years. Two quotes: “IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, and SAP’s recent moves into IoT software has CIOs salivating for an off-the-shelf Internet […]
A few months ago we did a post on a couple of industry examples of the value of big customer data, which featured some estimates of the annual dollar value of customer data collected for Facebook and Kroger groceries. In this blog we bring a couple of other interesting data points mentioned in this Wall Street Journal article on the selling of customer data assets from two recent bankruptcies, Radio Shack and Caesar’s Entertainment. We provide these as examples of the value of customer data since the value of IoT data is still emerging and growing. “Standard General LP, a hedge […]
